Parents invited to Broxburn Academy internet safety event
Parents are encouraged to attend a special 'safer internet' evening held by Broxburn Schools Cluster.
Parents' and Carers' Guide will take place on Tuesday, February 7 at 6.30pm in Broxburn Academy library, until about 8.00pm.
Head Teacher of Broxburn Academy, Peter Reid, said: "Pupils will be given a letter and parents should return the reply slip to indicate whether or not they can attend the evening.
"The presentation is in partnership with the police and Community Constable, PC Andrew Kidd, will be the representative on the evening.
“Topics for discussion will include the possible risks posed to your children in the online world, the types of technologies they are using, the ways in which you can protect them in online spaces, as well as where you can go for more help and advice.
"Parents will also have the opportunity to learn what information and support the students receive in school.
“Although targeted at parents of P7 to S3, parents of pupils in other year groups are more than welcome to come along, as are any students."
