Save Park Road Pre-School Playgroup

Park Road Pre-School Playgroup has had their renewal for partnership with West Lothian Council rejected despite having been in Partnership for seven years.

The playgroup has been running for 37 years and the people of Broxburn have invested a lot of time and money in it. We initially entered the partnership at the request of West Lothian Council to fill a need for places and have had 3 contracts renewed. We changed our working practices to accommodate the contract requirements and now we will not have a functioning playgroup and as we are in an education building, possibly no premises.

The playgroup Management committee have organised a petition which can be signed at various outlets in the town and also have a Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/home.php?filter=lf#!/group.php?gid=107497219301727

The playgroup belongs to the people of Broxburn and we don't want this to be lost. They are the ones who put all the money and effort into making it so good that the Council wanted partnership with us in the first place.

The council have agreed to a temporary lease of the current premises and we are hoping to keep running for children aged 2 1/2 years upwards.

An open day is being held on Friday 20th August at 9am-11am in Community Room, Broxburn Primary School. Bring your child along for a look and a chat or contact 07752926553 or parkroadplaygroup@blueyonder.co.uk for more information

We are also looking for suitable premises in Broxburn to relocate.
