Supermarket giant Tesco plans new store in Broxburn
1 SeptemberNew plans have been submitted to build a major new supermarket in Broxburn - with Tesco announcing plans to build a 30,000 sq ft store generating 300 new jobs in the town.
The new store, which will go before planning bosses for approval, is planned for the old Candleworks site in the centre of Broxburn, after West Lothian Council identified it as a suitable location for a supermarket.
A pair of public consultation events are being held, on Tuesday 14th from 10am-4pm and Wednesday 15th September from noon-5pm, and 6-8pm in the foyer of the Strathbrock Partnership Centre to allow local residents to see and comment on the plans.
This is the second similar proposal for Broxburn, with one already in place from Sainsbury's, who have submitted a pre-planning application for a similar store near the Glenmorangie site.
